Why We Exist

The story a people tell about themselves shapes what they believe is possible.

Colonialism did not only take land, labour, and resources. It took the African capacity to narrate itself — to name its own cosmology, its grief, its genius, its beauty — on its own terms.

Ubuntu Luminary Network exists to return that capacity. Not through nostalgia. Through rigorous, beautiful, uncompromising African cinema and documentary work that carries genuine cultural frequency.

We are not filling a gap in the market. We are completing a longer work of restoration.

Four instruments. One frequency. The complete transmission of African knowing.

Feature Film

The Root System

A fully developed feature with treatment, step outline, and complete screenplay. A story of return — to land, to lineage, to the self that was buried beneath what the world required of you.

TV Series

The Return of Ambuya Nhawu

A series bible targeting African streaming platforms. The story of an ancestral figure whose return disrupts every settled arrangement — and restores what was lost before language had words for it.

Live Action Feature

The Doctor, Pastor or N'yanga

Three people brought to the same mountain elder for healing. A meditation on the meeting point between modern crisis and ancient knowing — and what survives the encounter.

TV Game Show  ·  Continental

The Kraal

A continental knowledge game show for Africa. Players move across the continent — language, history, oral tradition, geography — unlocking cultural treasure hidden in every country. The gathering place where Africa comes to know itself.

THE KRAAL

The Kraal

A Continental TV Game Show  ·  Africa

The kraal is where Africa has always gathered to deliberate, to celebrate, to remember. The Kraal brings that instinct to the screen — a game show that moves across the continent, country by country, unlocking the knowledge that belongs to all of us.

Contestants earn their way through three layers of challenge: history and geography, the living languages of each country's host culture, and a virtual treasure hunt tied to real landmarks, oral traditions, and cultural objects. The prize is not money. It is belonging — cultural currency earned across fifty-four nations.

This is not a quiz. It is a homecoming in the form of a game.

The screen is the last frontier of African authorship.

We are looking for directors, producers, distributors, and partners who understand what is at stake — and are ready to work at that level.
